Altrad Belle PCEL 32X Plate Compactor
The PCEL 32X is a 320mm wide forward plate that sits at the lighter end of the Belle range without giving up a useful amount of compaction force. At 49kg it is easy to move around site and load into a van, making it a good fit for paving, drainage and general groundwork crews.
Compact 13-Inch Plate The 320mm plate width suits footpaths, trench reinstatement, patios and other areas where a wider machine would be awkward. Folded down for storage, the machine stands just 429mm high and 597mm long, so it takes up little room on the van.
Performance An 11kN vibration unit gives a static pressure of 425kg/m² and a travel speed of up to 23 metres per minute, so the operator can cover small and medium areas quickly. The baseplate is 8mm thick for a long working life.
Engine Options The PCEL 32X is available with two petrol engines. The Honda GX120 version produces 3.2Hp/2.4kW and is the choice for users who standardise on Honda engines for parts and servicing. The Loncin H135 version produces 3.5Hp/2.6kW and offers a lower purchase cost. Both share the same plate, vibration unit and 49kg weight, so compaction performance is the same whichever engine is chosen.
Where It Works Best The PCEL 32X is suited to granular materials and surfacing work, including:
- Block paving: bedding blocks and setts with an optional paving pad fitted
- Sub-base: compacting Type 1 and similar granular layers for paths and patios
- Trench reinstatement: consolidating backfill in narrow service trenches
- Asphalt repairs: finishing small areas of bituminous patching
Operator Comfort The published hand-arm vibration figure is 4.43m/s², and the operating handle gives an overall working length of 986mm. An optional Belle paving pad is available for block paving work.
