Description
Altrad Belle PCLX 16/45E 110v Electric Plate Compactor
The PCLX 16/45E is the largest electric forward plate in the Belle range, built for contractors who need serious compaction where petrol engines are not allowed. Its 450mm plate and 16kN vibration unit put it in the same performance class as mid-size petrol plates.
Power and Performance A 3.0Hp/2.2kW 110v motor drives the 16kN vibration unit, giving a static pressure of 517kg/m² and a travel speed of up to 27 metres per minute. A centrifugal clutch provides a soft start and reduces the current surge when the machine starts, which is kinder to transformers and site supplies.
Built for Site Power The machine runs on 110v 50Hz and needs a transformer rated at 5kVA or more. It is fitted with a professional 32amp power inlet, is a Class 1 earthed appliance and can be used with compatible extension leads up to 25m long. Because it draws more current than smaller electric plates, check that the transformer and leads on site are rated for the load before starting work.
Heavy-Duty Construction The 450mm x 420mm plate is cut from 8mm steel for a long working life, and the machine weighs 97kg without a paving pad. That weight and force make it suitable for thicker granular layers than lighter electric plates can handle.
Applications The PCLX 16/45E is well suited to:
- Indoor sub-base: compacting Type 1 and granular fill inside buildings and warehouses
- Enclosed sites: basements, tunnels and covered areas where exhaust fumes must be avoided
- Low-emission projects: city centre and public sector schemes with strict emission rules
- Block paving: large paved areas, with the optional Belle paving pad
Low Vibration The published hand-arm vibration figure is 3.04m/s², independently tested by OPERC to BS5349 using EN500-4. Optional extras include a Belle paving pad and a Belle PAT testing rig.
