Altrad Belle PCLX 32 Plate Compactor
The PCLX 32 is a midweight 320mm forward plate built for professional paving and groundwork crews. It combines a 13kN vibration unit with low hand-arm vibration, so it compacts well and can be used for longer shifts than many plates of a similar size.
Performance in a Narrow Plate The 320mm plate width suits footpaths, trenches, patios and tight access work. With 13kN of centrifugal force and a static pressure of 416kg/m², it moves forward at up to 20 metres per minute, which keeps productivity up on longer runs. The vibration unit is sized to give a good balance of force and speed for a machine of this weight, so the operator is not fighting the plate on longer runs.
Low Hand-Arm Vibration The Honda-powered machine has a published hand-arm vibration figure of 2.49m/s², a low figure for a petrol plate. Lower vibration lets operators stay on the machine for longer within daily exposure limits, which matters on paving and reinstatement jobs.
Engine Options The PCLX 32 is offered with two petrol engines. The Honda GX120 version (3.2Hp/2.4kW) suits fleets that standardise on Honda for servicing and parts. The Loncin version is a lower-cost alternative for owner-operators and smaller contractors. The plate, frame and vibration unit are common to both.
Applications The PCLX 32 is built for:
- Block paving: bedding blocks and setts with an optional Belle paving pad
- Footpaths and patios: compacting sub-base and bedding layers
- Trench reinstatement: consolidating backfill in narrow excavations
- Asphalt: finishing small surfacing and patch repairs, with the optional water kit
Practical Design The machine weighs 64kg and folds down to 790mm long and 620mm high for transport and storage. Manual handling points make it easier to load safely. Optional extras include a paving pad, a detachable wheel kit and a quick-release water kit. The compact folded size means it fits easily in the back of a van alongside other small plant.
