Description

Altrad Belle PCLX 32S Streetworks Plate Compactor

The PCLX 32S is the streetworks version of Belle’s PCLX 32, developed for utility contractors and highway teams reinstating footpaths and service trenches. Belle states it exceeds the HAUC requirements for footpath reinstatement, which is the standard most streetworks crews are working to.

Built for Reinstatement Belle’s Dual Force baseplate adds compaction effort to meet UK HAUC requirements, with a quoted static pressure of 1,662kg/m² from a 13kN vibration unit. The 320mm plate fits the narrow trenches and footways typical of utility work, and the machine travels at up to 18 metres per minute.

Tough Baseplate and Frame The baseplate is made from Strenx performance steel with a Hardox wear plate, both chosen for strength and resistance to abrasion. A tubular frame protects the engine and other vulnerable components, so the machine stands up to hire fleet and heavy contractor use.

Engine Options The PCLX 32S is available with a Honda GX120 petrol engine (3.2Hp/2.4kW) or a Loncin petrol engine. The Honda version suits fleets that standardise on Honda engines; the Loncin version gives a lower purchase cost. Both use the same streetworks baseplate and vibration unit. Choosing between them comes down to fleet preference and budget rather than compaction performance.

Typical Work The PCLX 32S is aimed at:

  • Footway reinstatement: compacting layers to HAUC requirements after utility excavations
  • Service trenches: consolidating backfill in narrow trenches for water, gas, power and telecoms
  • Highway maintenance: patch repairs and small reinstatements on footways and verges
  • Asphalt: finishing bituminous surfacing with the optional water spray kit

Low Hand-Arm Vibration The Honda version has a published hand-arm vibration figure of 2.26m/s², allowing longer safe use per shift. It weighs 67kg, and an optional 12 litre quick-release water tank and a detachable wheel kit are available.
