Description
Altrad Belle PCX 16/50 Plate Compactor
The PCX 16/50 is a 500mm wide forward plate from Belle’s heavy-duty PCX range, powered by a Honda GX160 petrol engine. Its wide, short plate covers ground quickly while staying easy to steer, which suits driveways, car parks and other large open areas.
Honda GX160 Power The Honda GX160 produces 5.5Hp/4.0kW and drives a 16kN vibration unit. Honda’s GX range is a common choice in hire and contractor fleets, and parts and servicing support are widely available. The larger GX160 gives this plate more engine power than the GX120 used on the smaller PCX models, matched to the larger 16kN vibration unit and wider plate.
Wide 500mm Plate The 500mm x 420mm plate gives a static pressure of 435.7kg/m² and a travel speed of up to 21 metres per minute. The wide footprint means fewer passes on large areas, and the shorter plate length helps when turning and working around obstacles. In its operating position the machine is 1,065mm long, and it folds to 995mm for storage and transport.
Low Hand-Arm Vibration The published hand-arm vibration figure is 2.87m/s², allowing longer working periods within daily exposure limits. The machine weighs 91.5kg without optional extras. Lower vibration exposure is particularly useful on large paving and sub-base jobs where the plate may be in use for much of the day.
Applications The PCX 16/50 is suited to:
- Driveways and car parks: compacting sub-base over large open areas
- Block paving: large paved areas with the optional Belle paving pad
- Asphalt: surfacing work with the optional water kit
- General groundwork: granular fill for slabs, bases and landscaping
Optional Extras A Belle paving pad, a water kit and a wheel kit are available, letting one machine move between groundwork, paving and surfacing jobs. A wheel kit is worth considering on a machine of this weight, as it makes moving around site and loading much easier.
