Description

Altrad Belle PCX 60A Plate Compactor

The PCX 60A is a short, compact forward plate with a 350mm plate, designed as a multi-purpose machine for groundwork and surfacing crews. Its short plate length makes it easy to steer around obstacles and into tight corners.

Honda GX120 Power A Honda GX120 petrol engine producing 4.0Hp/3.0kW drives an 11kN vibration unit. That gives a static pressure of 565kg/m² and a quick travel speed of up to 25 metres per minute, so the PCX 60A gets through small and medium areas without wasted time. The Honda GX120 is a common engine in hire and contractor fleets, so parts and servicing support are easy to find.

Asphalt-Friendly Baseplate The 350mm x 400mm baseplate is shaped to avoid leaving track marks on hot asphalt, which makes the PCX 60A a sensible choice for surfacing crews finishing tarmac paths, patches and reinstatements. An optional water kit with a 9.5 litre tank helps stop material sticking to the plate.

Versatile on Site Beyond asphalt, the PCX 60A works across a wide range of compaction tasks. Its 68.5kg weight is manageable for loading and moving between areas, and the compact plate makes it easy to work around manholes, kerbs and posts. At 1,010mm long in its operating position, the machine is compact enough to transport in a small van with other tools and to turn in confined spaces such as back gardens and alleyways.

Applications Typical uses include:

  • Asphalt: finishing tarmac paths, patches and footway reinstatements
  • Sub-base: compacting granular layers for paths, patios and slabs
  • Block paving: bedding blocks with the optional Belle paving pad
  • Trench backfill: consolidating fill in service and drainage trenches

Optional Extras A paving pad, a detachable wheel kit and a water kit are available. The published hand-arm vibration figure is 4.9m/s², so plan operator exposure times to suit.
