Description

Altrad Belle RPC 45/60 Reversible Plate Compactor

The Altrad Belle RPC 45/60 sits in Belle’s medium-size, heavy-duty RPC range, delivering 45kN of centrifugal force through a 450mm base plate that extends to 600mm with extension plates. It is built for contractors who need more depth of compaction than a compact plate offers, without moving up to a roller. Honda petrol, Hatz diesel and Hatz diesel electric start versions are available.

Hydraulic Servo Control Speed and compaction effort are adjusted through hydraulic servo control of the eccentric, giving the operator progressive control in forward, reverse and on the spot. It makes a machine of this weight easier to position against kerbs, walls and trench sides.

Built for Site Conditions A wrap-around frame protects the engine and key components from knocks on site. The vibrator runs at 70Hz, and the 839mm-long base plate gives a long footprint for consistent results on granular fill.

Applications With its extra weight and longer plate, the RPC 45/60 is a step up from the compact RPC 30 models and suits:

  • Soil compaction: mixed and granular soils on new formations
  • Trench backfill: pipe and cable trenches where layers need consolidating
  • Road maintenance: repair and reinstatement work on carriageways and footways
  • Sub-base: granular layers beneath slabs and hardstanding

Engine Options The Honda petrol model is rated at 6.7kW with an operating weight of 275kg. The Hatz diesel models are rated at 4.7kW and weigh 291kg (recoil start) or 303kg (electric start, battery included). The electric start version saves effort when the machine is started and stopped many times during a shift.

Extension Plates Bolt-on extension plates take the working width from 450mm to 600mm, so one machine covers both narrower trench work and wider open areas. Fitting or removing them lets you match the plate to the width of the trench or strip being compacted rather than running a second machine.
