Altrad Belle RTX60 Trench Rammer

The Altrad Belle RTX60 is a 60kg, 4-stroke Honda petrol trench rammer delivering 13.6kN of impact force. It is a popular middle ground in the RTX range: light enough for one person to handle and load, with enough punch for cohesive backfill. Choose a narrow 165mm foot or a wide 280mm foot.

Compaction Where Plates Can’t Go The RTX60 runs at 450 to 660 blows per minute with a 52mm stroke. That hammering action works material down in narrow trenches and around obstructions, and it handles clay and mixed fill better than a vibrating plate.

Foot Options Two versions are available, differing only in foot width. The 165 x 335mm foot is suited to narrow service trenches and tight gaps around ducts and pipes. The 280 x 335mm foot covers more ground per blow and suits wider trenches and general reinstatement. Spare and alternative plastic feet are listed for the RTX range if you need to change later.

Easy Servicing Swing-out engine protection gives access to the maintenance points, and a triple-filtration air cleaner and dual-filtration fuel system help protect the engine on dusty sites. The leg has an oil level sight glass for quick daily checks.

Applications The RTX60 is suited to:

• Confined areas: around manholes, posts and foundations
• Reinstatement: small excavations in footways and verges

Getting It to the Job A lower grab handle and front roller help when loading and moving the machine. At 345mm wide, 705mm long and 975mm high, it fits easily in a van or on a trailer alongside other small plant.

Operator Exposure The published hand-arm vibration figure is 7.25m/s² and the noise level is 108 dB(A). Use these figures when planning trigger times and hearing protection, as you would for any trench rammer.
