Altrad Belle RTX80 Diesel Trench Rammer
The Altrad Belle RTX80 is the diesel model in the RTX range, powered by a Yanmar L48 engine and fitted with a 280mm foot. With 20.5kN of impact force it is the hardest-hitting rammer in this line-up, and it runs on the same fuel as the rest of a diesel plant fleet.
Diesel Power The Yanmar L48 is a direct-injection diesel rated at 4.7hp (3.5kW). Diesel suits sites and fleets that want to avoid storing petrol, and it gives a single fuel for rammers, dumpers and other diesel plant. Unlike the petrol models, the RTX80 uses fuel injection rather than a carburettor.
Heavy Impact The RTX80 delivers 20.5kN of impact force at 450 to 660 blows per minute with a 52mm amplitude. That extra weight behind each blow helps on heavy clays, deep trench backfill and areas where a lighter petrol rammer would need more passes.
Low Hand-Arm Vibration The RTX80 has a quoted hand-arm vibration figure of less than 2.5m/sĀ², a useful figure when planning operator exposure on longer jobs.
Applications The RTX80 is suited to:
- Deep trench backfill: drainage and utility trenches in layers
- Heavy clay: cohesive soils that need impact rather than vibration
- Confined areas: around chambers, foundations and structures
- Diesel-only sites: locations where petrol is restricted or not stocked
Size and Handling The machine weighs 86kg and measures 425 x 1081 x 700mm (W x H x L). Like the rest of the RTX range, it can be used with Belle’s replacement feet and transport accessories.
Petrol or Diesel Rammer The petrol RTX models are lighter and suit general trench work. The RTX80 is the choice when you need the highest impact force in the range, want to keep one fuel across a diesel fleet, or are working on sites where petrol storage is restricted.
